Since the outbreak of the virus in China in November last year, it took nearly 70 days for the virus to infect the first 100,000 people. However, the second 100,000 took only 11. And, more alarmingly, the third 100,000 was reported in mere four days.

He also said the recorded number may only be a minute percentage of the actual number of infected persons.

Why is COVID-19 pandemic is accelerating?

A number of countries have taken strict measures to curtail the further spread of the virus. Yet, there is a lot more to do in terms of reversing its devastating effects. This is especially facing a challenge in the western democracies. In some countries individual freedoms are greatly upheld. However, steps needed to be taken immediately, to stop COVID-19 pandemic is accelerating.
