In the latest news, President of France Emmanuel Macron has tested positive for the coronavirus. The 42-year-old French President has decided to undergo tests for COVID-19 after developing some symptoms.
According to news from Elysée Palace, Macron is expected to self-isolate for seven days until symptoms subside. He is expected to continue to work remotely and has not appointed an acting President.
France is currently fifth in the list of the highest number of coronavirus in the world, behind the US, India, Brazil and Russia, with over 2.4 million cases and nearly 60,000 deaths.
The country imposed an overnight curfew recently in order to control the rising number of cases.
