Boris Johnson tested positive for coronavirus

UK Prime Minister announced in a tweet a short while ago that he has been tested positive for the coronavirus. In a video message from 10, Downing Street, the PM said that over the past few hours he developed mild symptoms. And, then he had been tested positive for the coronavirus.

PM Johnson has decided to self-isolate for the moment and is planning to continue to lead the UK Government’s efforts in fighting the coronavirus via videoconferencing.

The PM’s chief medical officer has advised him to get tested after Johnson developed mild symptom on Thursday.

Johnson’s partner, Carrie Symonds, is pregnant and the couple were last seen outside the PM’s official residence on Thursday.

A couple of days ago, Prince of Wales, the next in line to the British Crown was also tested positive for the virus and decided to go into self-isolation at Balmoral Castle in Scotland.

UK’s coronavirus cases have now risen to 11,658 with 578 deaths.

Johnson faced much criticism for not taking timely action to prevent the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the UK.
