A far less number of Americans will be travelling this year to their family homes to celebrate the tradition of Thanksgiving. Global travel dropped to decades-low following the surge of coronavirus cases around the world. And, now that the numbers recorded in the US have spiked at the onset of winter, the air travel within the country has also reduced drastically.
On Tuesday, the US recorded its highest daily death toll since May, 2,200, marring holiday plans of many Americans. The weekly average of cases also exceeded 175,000 this week, sending alarm bells that the virus spread during the winter season is going to have catastrophic effects in the US.
